I’m writing a literary analysis of “The Color Purple” for my class “Philosophy of Woman”. Here are the themes I’d like to focus on, but I’m having trouble deciding which way to go. If you’d like to offer your opinion and why, I’d be much obliged!
1. Celie redefining gender roles for herself after she finds her voice
2. Character analysis of Shug Avery (specifically how she defies the expectations of her as a black female)
3. How positive female relationships can empower women to find strength within themselves and each other, so they can have identities not assigned to them by men.
